A polished row can still hide an old link, vague sizing or the wrong option price. These checks help you notice those gaps; they cannot guarantee a seller, product, payment or shipment.

Do not trust hype alone

“Best,” “must buy,” “top quality” and similar labels do not describe the evidence. A useful row explains the item, shows relevant details and makes its uncertainties visible. If removing the promotional word leaves the row empty, remove the row from the shortlist too.

Photos should answer questions

Ask what each image proves. Does it show shape, seam work, dimensions, connectors or another category-specific detail? Can you connect the images to the exact item and option under review? A photo set can be attractive and still fail those tests.

Sizing matters more than popularity

Size labels are not a shared measuring system. Use garment or item measurements where available, confirm the unit and compare with an item you understand. For non-clothing categories, scale still matters: bag dimensions, watch case size and accessory measurements can change what the photos seem to show.

Price needs context

A price is a field to compare, not a quality score. Check whether the amount refers to the selected option, whether required pieces are included and whether the current external page still matches the spreadsheet row. Avoid treating the lowest visible number as the complete decision.

Shipping weight changes the real decision

Add item weight, packaging and possible dimensional weight to the research notes. Do not invent a number when no measured data exists. A current service estimate remains separate from the editorial row.

External links need checking

A raw link, original link, Taobao link, Weidian link, 1688 link or Yupoo page may help identify the source. It does not certify the seller or listing. Check that the current page still describes the intended item, option, measurements and price.

Red flags worth removing

  • The category and linked item do not match.
  • The row uses only promotional labels and no checkable details.
  • Photos are too generic, cropped or unrelated to the detail that matters.
  • Fit-sensitive items have no usable measurements.
  • An unusually low price is presented without option context.
  • Weight or packaging is ignored for a heavy or bulky item.
  • A source platform name is used as if it proves quality.
  • Coupon, refund, tracking, login or payment claims cannot be confirmed through the responsible service.
